Struggle Berry Crunch

Are you truly confident?

Teriyana Morton

What if true confidence isn't about external achievements but about embracing who we are at our deepest core? Join me on a journey of self-discovery and transformation as I recount a powerful encounter with someone I deeply admired, who surprisingly admired me in return. This exchange sparked a profound realization about what it truly means to be confident. For years, I believed confidence was built on skills, experiences, and connections. Yet, this moment of mutual recognition revealed a different truth: confidence is the peace and assurance that comes from understanding, accepting, and standing firm in who we are, imperfections and all.

As I share my path of accepting vulnerabilities and celebrating strengths, you’ll hear how this perspective has empowered me to face life's uncertainties without fear. It’s about acknowledging our full journey—the good, the bad, and the complex—and seeing our complete selves as inherently beautiful. I invite you to reflect on your own life’s journey, recognizing that every facet makes you unique and capable. Together, let’s celebrate our individuality and find the courage to pursue our dreams free from self-doubt. Here's to a fulfilling journey of self-discovery and a wonderful week ahead!

Speaker 1:

Yesterday I was talking to someone that I really admired and I found out they admired me and through that admiration, this person asked me how do you do it? How do as confident? Two, because I didn't know that I presented myself as confident. And three, because all this time I've been trying to find my confidence and it's been with me this whole entire time. Let me explain. For 10 years I thought confidence came from the skills that you gained, the people that you knew, the experiences you've had, the jobs you've got, the places you've been, the values that you've cultivated. I thought that was confidence and, in theory, if you do your Google search on how to be confident what is confidence? Those things will pop up. But that is not what confidence is at your core. When I looked that person in the eyes, I felt such a sense of peace in myself because what I told that person was I am confident because I know who.

Speaker 1:

I am at my core now and I'm not afraid to be it. I know that I can get overwhelmed easily. I know that when it's time to put on a show, I'm ready. I know that, no matter what happens that day, that I still have done my best. I know that I have God, that I can pray to. I have resources. I know things through my experiences that have gotten me here to where I am today. That is why I'm confident.

Speaker 1:

We're never going to know everything. We're never going to have everything figured out. We all have insecurities, we all have setbacks in our lives. We all want to do things differently. We all would have said something different. We all would have wished we didn't hurt that person or we wouldn't. We weren't hurt.

Speaker 1:

But at our core, the way we show up in our daily life, daily life, standing in who we are, is where the confidence lies. I know now if I make a mistake I can correct it. I know now if I say something dumb I can apologize. I know now if I want to course correct, I can and not be concerned about what other people think of me. I now can live in my truth of being who I am without the judgment of my own self. I am confident in who I am and I'm still learning about that person. But the best part of all, for me at least, is that others recognize my journey, not even knowing what I've been through, and now I can say I am confident.

Speaker 1:

Can you Think about everything you've been through. Think about who you are the good, the bad, bad and the ugly. We are whole human beings and we can't be denouncing any parts of ourselves because then we wouldn't be whole. And once you realize the slices of your life and how, when they all come together, you truly are beautiful and you can be confident. If you stand in who you are, you'll be able to do anything without hesitation. You'll be able to follow your dreams. You'll be able to look somebody in the eyes who asks you how do you do it? And you can say it's because I know who I am. I leave you with that message Struggle Berries, I'm excited for your journey and I'm excited to keep going in mine, and I wish you a great rest of your week. Bye.
